Trinidad Criminals Using Grenades

According to reports from TV6 News a grenade was thrown and exploded near an outdoor basketball court in Malick Barataria. Shrapnel was found in a nearby car and shop with thick black smoke engulfing the area of the explosion. Two people were injured. It is alleged that this was a test run in an attempt to do something similar with an upcoming jail break.

Comments: We are all now sitting ducks. Prior to this incident is was most likely that only one individual was murdered in one incident. Now with the introduction of grenades there is the likelihood that dozens of citizens would be killed if one of these devices are deliberately thrown into a crowd. The government seem to have accepted corruption kidnappings and everyday murders as the norm on this island. Surely they are not going to do the same in view of this incident. At present they just sit back and wait for the next advanced move by the criminals. This incident is definitely a step up the ladder of criminality and by the looks of it nothing is still not being done of significance despite its seriousness. The impression given is that the government is a now waiting for the next move by the criminals, and then depending on its damage something might be done. It however maybe too late then, to do anything. There is now a high probability that the hardened criminals may appear in confiscated armoured vehicles flying their banner in down town Port of Spain ,and by what in happening here such event is most likely just around the corner. Don't think this is laughable I am the one who may have the last laugh.

I doubt something like that can happen, crime in T&T have been going on for a long time already. It would also take a lot of manpower to pull out any attack in the first place. Seeing this case on the explosion of grenades doesn't surprise me one bit.
