Southern Darkness - Page 8

The Game Master says...

You arise and try to oust the spreading fire burning on you and about you but it is not easy, the liquid these Bandits have used is very toxic to smell thus confusing you a bit, and worst off it is easily ignitable so as you put out one it catches back. You try to back into the cave. Those with you with metal armor start to feel the heat generated around you. Those of you with just cloth find your skin scorching. In the process you are being shot at by arrows as you become distracted.

An archer gets in a good shot while Thomas was engaged in fire fighting.

GM: Thomas takes -6hp.

Morton finds himself worrying about the intensity of the fire and does not even have time to consider the arrows entering his body. He falls to the ground with wounds about his body both from the arrows and the fire.

GM: Morton is dead and Play by Post is out of the game.

At the same time...

Pundit reverses into the cave ahead of Thomas who closely follows coughing, choking and smothering himself trying to get the fires out.

As you go deeper into the cave you find the arrows begin hitting the rocks around you as you disappear from their sight.

Pundit examines the door. It is heavy and wooden with metal braces. It is not meant to be open easily at all. You have never felt so trapped in your life.

You hear the sound of many braking and growling wolves, they are on their way.

GM: Say what you wish to do now.

Darkness Southern

The Game Master says...

You await the oncoming wolves and they come with fury. Your first impression is one of shock as you see how big they are measuring almost the height of a man and the broadness of a tiger or lion. You have never seen such large wolf breeds before and become taken aback by the sight. About their head is some kind of leather mask with strange symbols that you catch only briefly as they attack.

GM: Continuing with current rolls...

Pundit has no choice but to turn around and attack but the space is rather tight for him to make a full swing without hitting his comrade so he awaits behind Thomas who deals a deep wound to the beast with his long sword. The wolf cringes but to your surprise what would normally kill a wolf you are familiar with only hurts the great sized wolf before you. It revengefully lunges towards Thomas this time with a more aggressive attack but finds itself scrapping the shield of Thomas. Thomas returns a blow ending the beast's life and it hardly has chance to fall to the floor before another great wolf is already moving towards you.

The second great wolf is no less persistent and manages to get passed Thomas and goes towards Pundit. Pundit parries successfully the first impact but not the second and the creature sinks its teeth deep into the neck of Pundit cracking his neck as he becomes lymph. The wolf opens his jaw and let's go of Pundit's body once no feelings of a struggle is felt.

Meanwhile...

Thomas sees a remaining two great wolves before him. They seem to work together as they attack in a unison fashion targeting different parts of your body - one aims for your upper torso and the other great wolf your lower torso. Thomas fails miserably to protect himself this time and finds the wolf breaches his protective shield and armor knocking him hard into the rock.

GM: Thomas receives -7HP damage. Resuming same rolls from the beginning:

Thomas finds protecting himself more difficult because now the wolf behind him also is upon him. The wolves hunch their backs and growl showing their teeth with saliva and blood dripping from it almost in a grinning fashion. Thomas lashes out a blow that severely damages one of the great wolves and that is the last he remembers....

Darkness engulfs your surroundings as you can feel yourself being drug and torn to pieces.

GM: Thomas is dead.

NOTES: The entire party has been compromised and obliterated by the Bandits of the South and their Great Wolves. Let's break here for awhile. I will create another Scenario in the future. Those of you who wish to create a Character and had significant FP before the changes should wait because I will be respectfully converting whatever FP you once had into gold / credits for this game and others under my management. This will enable you to better outfit your characters beforehand. More will come in updates.

The End
