I was just thinking about the various NGOs and 'Charitable' organizations that sometimes gets government support, help or intervention. My main question is what factors govern which NGOs or 'Charities' get money from government while others do not?

Its probably as simple as giving to those NGOs that have a mission that is aligned to the government's mission.

The government should be ensuring that these places use the money for EXACTLY what they said they would in the public interest. Otherwise anyone could get money for just saying they are an NGO.
