What are your thoughts about a two day old baby being found bound with tape on his eyes and cotton in the mouth and abandoned in upper Sixth Ave., Malick, Trinidad in a trash bin?

In a TV6 report I saw the Rasta man that found the baby brake down and cry over stopping to see what was making the sound in the trash. At first he thought it was a cat and was going to ignore it. He had to move bags and even burst open a bag to find the baby. It is amazing that the baby survived being bound in that way.

Are you freaking serious? Ugh, things like this just makes my blood boil in anger! How can ANYONE do something so awful to a poor innocent baby! My goodness, if you want to abandon the child why not leave him/her at a fire station or a convent or hospital or something! Hope they find the person responsible for this, no mercy!

The authorities are asking the parents to come forward but if after 8 days no one claims the baby then the State will put someone as Guardian. I doubt anyone will come forward, if they did there would be a murder attempt charge laid on them.

Bless John Julien who was the person who found her and saved her! And bless the Alexander family who bathed the baby, clothed her AND gave her the FIRST meal she had since she was born (And she was two days old!). One family member is breastfeeding so she breastfed the little baby.

From a report via CTV: The mother of the baby is now in custody after police received a tip off. She is the mother of seven other children and it is believed that she committed the act due to postpartum depression. She only lives a short distance away from where she dumped the baby.

According to the papers, they will take the woman to counselling today, after which a determination would be made as to whether or not she would charged with any offense. I won't be surprised if she is allowed to walk out free AND given back the baby.
