Gunmen Kill Islamic Cleric In Northern Nigeria

Sheikh Bashir Mustapha, whose personal assistant was also killed, had been an outspoken critic of a radical Muslim sect blamed for a rash of recent shootings. The sect, Boko Haram, is campaigning for the implementation of strict Shariah law. Its name means "Western education is sacrilege" in the local Hausa language.
