who were contacted by Treasury Department inspectors posing as computer

My friend, that is what us hackers call Social Engineering. Using the humans as a flaw to gain access into a system. But before I go any further, let me make something clear.
A hacker, or aka White Hat Hacker, is one who specializes in computer system security, practices in legal manners, and offers it services to help companies and internet users secure their systems.
A Cracker, or aka Black Hat Hacker, is one who illegally uses his skills to break into systems and cause mischief.
Please remember to not get them confused, as most people do , because they are in a state of mind which the media has caused, called F.U.D (Fear Uncertainty & Doubt). So now that you know the difference and all the types of computer experts, I will continue my post.
I think that it is excellent that they are testing the other agencies as to the security and password security policies. Its incredible to see though how easy it was, and one wonders as to if they tell them anything at all.
