The way we are making leaps and bounds regarding technology I wouldn't be surprised. I can see the day when we just all upload ourselves.

I doubt we will upload ourselves but we will sit back in a room and have a avatar do all the work for us as we turn into vegetables.

I would seriously only want to upload myself after I had lived my life. Think of it - getting to start a new life whenever a new game comes out you want to play. Being around to see your great, great, grandkids and offer them help and guidance in their lives and seeing them all grow up while you still get to have fun and spend time together. It would be amazing!

Original post stated that people can lose their sense of time. You don't need VR for that to happen. Any engrossing book or game will give the same effect.
