Beta software often comes out with a bang so that users can test it without the creator having to pay someone to do it. Beta has pros and cons to it - for instance - if you beta test a product you may be able to influence how the product will turn out eventually or in some rare cases even get free as a 'gift' for beta testing. On the other hand beta testing could just be time consuming and can even affect your other programs / hardware because it was not built properly for testing in the first place. So, do you use Beta Software?
I beta tested Windows 95 and had more problems than positives come from the experience. The Beta drivers were always incompatible with something on my machine, and I had to reload the OS at least 10 times. Since then, I have sworn not to install beta software on my pc; at least beta software that is produced by Microsoft
