Based on your experiences what for you was the Pawn Chess Piece rating, pros and cons?

I find that this chess piece is considered the "Weakest unit" When playing chess in my opinion. But the best thing about this unit that you can "Promote" Your pawn to a Queen, Rook, Bishop, and a Knight if it reaches to the last line of squares across the board which is the enemy "Territory".
