Deborah Introduction

Hi. I was cleaning out my favorites file and ran across the bordeglobal.com/foruminv/index.php?showforum=120 and clicked on it. Hadn't been here in ages. Lot's of nice changes. I've decided to keep it.

I am an LDS member since 1982. Currently a teacher in RS and a Visiting Teacher. Past member of 2 stake RS presidencies, and former RS president.
Love to study the gospel and it's history and spiritual things and discuss.

love, deborah

Introduction Deborah

Welcome LDS Member

Thanks for posting your introduction message, this INTERNATIONAL Forum allows you to interact positively with many people on varying topics such as LDS Church news, Doctrine, the Book of Mormon, etc. However, do keep in mind that LDS Related Discussion is kept only in the LDS Related Boards as this is an International Community.

Be sure to read: The Art of Discussion as some tend to become offended or argumentative, this may not be you, but just in case.

The next thing you should do now is update your profile. You can do this by clicking the link called, 'My Controls' in the top menu. You may wish to venture over to the LDS Deep Doctrine board or the News & RM Section and have a look around.

If you like LDS Based Games then you may also be interested in playing: Nephi RPG where you can 'Journey to the Promised Land' or Book of Mormon Battles and see if you really know a lot about the Book of Mormon.

Here are some quick links for you to look over when you have time:
Read --> Posting Policy | See All Boards | Site Map | FAQ | Upgrade

**PLEASE NOTE** If you joined just to access the Mature LDS Board then you need to Upgrade, see here for reviews: Click Here. Upgrading is NOT necessary for the other LDS Related Boards. To make a DONATION Click Here

Introduction Deborah

QUOTE
So, being new, and seeing the first post with a link to "donate" now, does this mean unless I give a contribution, I'm not allowed to participate or access files?
How much and how often is this required? There seems to be an awful lot of "musts" demanded. Where is there friendly and caring guidance for newbies here?

I noticed there seems to be widely spaced dates on posts. Not too many people participating? What's the reason for that? I'm feeling a little leery because of feeling like I'm being questioned by the FBI but if I pay it doesn't matter. Can you offer some help in how to be able to access the mature and the deep section and be "encouraging" in your manner? I'm not sensing a loving atmosphere here.

Oh, prayers that must be said with exact wording are the blessings on the bread and water.

In the "LDS Mature Section" Thread you placed the above quote and I moved it here for several reasons I will list below:

1. Joseph above clearly lists what this site is about and that you can participate freely without donating anything. We have many public access LDS Boards here and yet want to go straight to the Mature section just because you feel you should? I think you should read this --> Source 8

I also wrote the below in the same LDS Mature Section Thread, but you obviously did not read that either:

QUOTE (JB)
As a side note (not necessarily related to your question)... I feel that there is MORE than ADEQUATE Topics in the LDS Deep Doctrine Board to satisfy the cravings for Doctrine if you are really serious about Discussing Doctrine and not merely here for curiosity. I can't tell you the number of times I have seen new Members join and what is the first thing they click... 'LDS Mature' Board. When they see they cannot get access they immediately leave without checking all the Boards here. Very suspicious really.

2. It seems like you bypassed all our join requirements that you AGREED to before Registering, whose fault is that... you 'sign' the contract and then question the terms after? Go read it slowly and carefully.

3. As for your other questions, there are explanations for all, but I won't even bother to answer. It seems you have joined with an agenda that I do not have time for as the onus is on the Member to learn what the site is about and not for us to school each Member while holding their hand. Ask reasonable questions and you will get reasonable answers. Conversely, ask foolish questions and the same will apply.

4. Lastly, if you have not decided to delete your account by now and insist on staying then follow in detail the links Joseph gave you. Do not Post your introduction over and over, only one is necessary. If you have worthwhile questions then ask here, however the FAQ and Help links are clearly visible.
