I suppose everything boils down to what is the most important thing, protect a victim and possible future victims in the example I gave or keep the oath no matter what. I hope I do not sound disrespectful but the position of the Priest to keep those kind of sins secret jeopardizing the life of people made me think about the Pharisees and their obsession with fulfilling the law literally and to the max, but often times missing the *real* point.
