Maybe We Are Not Worthy Mormons? - Page 4

I guess if you put it that way, then I guess yes. But he had the support of the Stake President, so where does one draw the line of blame. I saw his wife rake people over the coals emotionally many times, I even her rake her husband over the coals many times verbally and emotionally, in front of me. Some times the Lord only has so much to work with in a area, or sometimes he allows things to happen, to shock people, to wake them up. Whom the Lord loves, he chastens, it can be a flood, earthquake, war, famine and etc, why not a little verbal and mental abuse.

This Bishop did not have a short term, he was Bishop for around 7 or 8 years or so.
He and is wife were loving and caring in away, assume their behavior was from how they were raised. I saw it more for what it was, having a father like this, and at the time there, a wife like that, who made them look like Saints; she is now my X, but only left after the Spirit told me to leave for physical and mental health and spiritual reasons.

What they practiced in essence was simple unrighteous dominion. I saw them both walk up to the Saints in Church, and even me, and tell them exactly how they would perform their callings, or else. They left no room for agency and that persons guidance by the Holy Ghost.

I had a friend, he told him to hand over his Temple Recommend for teaching unsound doctrine in Priest Hood; I was there at that class, there was no unsound or false doctrine given. A Stake High Councilor was present and he said something to the Stake President, and that is how it all got started. My friend and his wife was released from all Ward and Stake callings as well, all without a Ward or Stake Priesthood court trial. The friend called a friend in Salt Lake an they called the Sake President and they gave him his Temple Recommend back, but not his callings, he later moved, ostracized by the ward leaders and most members, they saw no other choice.

The then present Elders Quorum President asked the Bishop if he could make sure that they could break up Young Womens class on Wed. Night, so his daughter could get home in time, to be in bed at a decent hour, or he would not allow her to attend. The Bishop asked for his Recommend on the spot, he told me luckily someone came down the hall to see the Bishop, which allowed him to slip away, luckily he never asked for his Recommend later on.

I assume this type of thing is more an exception in the Church. He also wanted my Recommend, and wanted me to stop doing what he thought was evil. But I couldn't stop being who I was, Spiritual. I was born and shapped to be a sensitive empath, with the gift of discernment, he and my wife likened my gifts and ability to witchcraft and being evil. Now, back down here in Central CA, where I grew up, the saints are more spiritual, they consider me spiritual and enlightened, not walking in darkness and evil. I hope I never encounter a Ward like that again, it was the only one like that, and I have been in 6 or more.

Mormons Worthy Not We Maybe

David, if the story you are sharing is accurate I cannot understand how can you possibly say the Spirit of the Lord approved of this Bishop's behavior, it is contradictory. You mentioned unrighteous dominion and I agree and if that's the case, the scripture is clear in Doctrine and Covenants 121:36-37:

international QUOTE
36 That the rights of the priesthood are inseparably connected with the powers of heaven, and that the powers of heaven cannot be controlled nor handled only upon the cprinciples of righteousness.

37 That they may be conferred upon us, it is true; but when we undertake to cover our sins, or to gratify our pride, our vain ambition, or to exercise control or dominion or compulsion upon the souls of the children of men, in any degree of unrighteousness, behold, the heavens withdraw themselves; the Spirit of the Lord is grieved; and when it is withdrawn, Amen to the priesthood or the authority of that man.
