The Dark Cleric - Medieval RPG - Page 8

The Game Master says...

You move your camp to somewhere not visible from the main thoroughfare of East City. You decide to make it a cold camp on the edge of a forest so that the trees give you cover but at the same time you can see anything coming across the plains.

GM: Usually I need how many miles away and in which direction. Was it in the forest, did you light a camp fire? There is a map with quadrants you can tell me, yes it does matter where and how you camp. Next time if you allow me to assume it may not be favorable. This time I give you the benefit of the doubt.

You watch through the night and nothing becomes an issue as you see the sun rise and a new day starts.

GM: Everyone should eat a ration. Say what you wish to do now.

The Game Master says...

After many days of zig-zag travels throughout the land you again digress and make your way back to the Village with the intent to buy supplies for disguises. Such items take a lot of searching as it is not something openly sold thus taking you most of the day to make up what you need. The total comes up to 10gp.

GM: Who is paying this and what are your disguises exactly? Say what you wish to do now.

The Game Master says...

GM: Again, who paid for disguises?

You head back to East City feeling that your new plan will work. Before reaching there you put on your disguises.

GM: Is it one person doing the disguises for all or is each character doing their own disguise?

The Game Master says...

GM: Third time asking... Who paid for 10gps

Jonathon seeks to help everyone look the part of a Bandit, but does he know well enough the local Bandits' attire to make each member of his group seem indistinguishable from the black foe?

GM: Jonathon should roll a D20 against mind and let me know the result.

The Game Master says...

GM: Apologies Thomaslee not reading well. Please ensure to subtract the gold from your character.

You make your way towards East City now fully disguised with costumes of Bandits or at least your impression of it. While walking through the City you notice most of the citizenry including the scrufs stand aside for you to pass as though they were making the ay clear for royalty. You assume it is your new image that is causing this effect and it is done out of fear and not respect.

At the Inn

It is almost sunset as you arrive outside of the East City Inn. Inside is lively as you would expect at this time as it is full of noisy chatter, music and laughter. You enter and though some notice your entry it doesn't bother them, apparently you look the part of a Bandit.

GM: Say what you wish to do now.

The Game Master says...

You take a seat at an available table near the front of the Inn. You notice the inside is rather small so you are fortunate to find space for you to sit. You request drinks, possibly the house ale and claim a celebration.

GM: 1gp each, please deduct it.

The wench is not bothered by your reasons for the ale as she sees everyone as always celebrating. She comes over to bring your ale to your table and then goes about her other duties.

The Game Master says...

You survey the rowdy crowd in the Inn. There are many there that could pass for thieves as their look is far from appealing, however you try to look for more specifics about your surroundings.

GM: The attached rough image shows where you are and what is around you. I have ordered a small pen tablet to assist me with these maps so they are not so time consuming.

You are seated just right of the entrance (red star). The circular shapes represent tables and stools, and they are all occupied. The men that sit at them vary from well built laborers to rather large fellows with not a care in the world. The bar is staffed by a wench and a very burly looking man who smiles at no one. There are also men at the bar drinking. A couple of more wenches walk around serving drinks.

To the right of the bar is a heavy set door where two men stand sober, casually talking yet they never move from it so you suppose they have been posted there.

To the left of the bar is some stairs going up.

The conversations surround all kinds of things: politics, women, people passing through. Nothing of substance for your current mission.

GM: Say what you wish to do now.

The Game Master says...

The bar keeper looks over Jonathon long before he reaches the bar. He says nothing by way of greeting and merely nods to Jonathon and in turn Jonathon takes it as his cue to speak. Jonathon asks for a room to rent for the party to which the bar keeper says,

"Fer the lot of thee ney, our rooms are but for two at the most, ye should know this, where are ye from?"

The bar keeper starts to show a frown of unfamiliarity as though he is trying to feel out what Jonathon is after and this makes you nervous. He continues,

"Ye haven't stayed here before?"

He tries to look pass Jonathon trying to make out the rest of the party.

GM: Say what you wish to do now.
