Do you think these two persons will be able to cope with the differences of language and culture?. A love story in the middle of the storm in Iraq.
Well, they say love is a wonderful thing and that it is blind! They wouldnt be the first couple to try to overcome a language and cultural barrier, and they certainly wont be the last. If they really love each other, then they will be fine. They will probably have more barriers from outsiders, and maybe even people close to them, accepting their union.
I think the relationship would last. I do believe it would be easier to marry someone from a place like Iraq and then move to U.S. than to meet and marry someone in the U.S. and take them home to a place in such disarray as Iraq. Good for them.
Remember the true story about how this Mormon boy married a woman from the Middle East (located in a thread somewhere around here) and it was so popular they made a movie out of it? Well the latest is they are divorce and not because of cultural reasons - it was just because she was a little 'faster' than him. Of course that could happen even if they were both from the same cultural background.
I think one thing that does help these two is that they share a religion. That right there is one of the biggest hurdles they would have had to jump had she followed one religion and he another. The fact that she is a Christian in Iraq already says that she is not mediocre in her faith. You will never meet a lazy Christian in a persecuted nation. I hope they can overcome the differences they've both been surrounded with. If God truly had them in store for one another, then it will work out.
