I have piles of scrap paper from when I was in high school and dreamed about being a poet or novelist, does that count? That is like a dream now, I've chosen a different path for me.

Sure it counts. My life took a different path as well. My dream of being a published author is still alive, though. I still write and I belong to a writer's group and a gentleman just joint our group who is retired from the publishing industry. Worked in New York and on the west coast and knew several well known authors. A great resource for our group.
