One minute a artist is blazing the charts with a hit song. The next minute everyone is saying what ever happened to that person. Are they still alive ? I think Ricky Martin was a one hit wonder. Yeah he was the guy who sang Living Mi Vida Loca. Does anyone else know any one hit wonders floating around out there ?
When I think of one hit wonders, two artists/songs come to mind right away:
1. Achy Breaky Heart - I forget who the artist was, but this song was such a huge hit and was played on the radio endlessly.
2. Ice Ice Baby - Vanilla Ice - probably one of the biggest one hit wonders ever seen. His career after this song was a total flop.
There are plenty of other one hit wonders, but those are the 2 that stand out for me.
Those are good examples. I also remember how popular "The Macerena" by Los Del Rio became. It was played everywhere. After a while, I got sick of hearing that song, and I never heard another song by them again. Another song is "Who let the Dogs Out" by the Baha Men. Same story, in my opinion of course.
Soft Cell's - Tainted Love
MC Hammer - Can't Touch This
Ah . - Take on Me
Dexie's Midnite Runners - Come on Eilene
Men Without Hats - The Safety Dance
Wang Chung - Everybody Wang Chung Tonight
Flock of Seagulls - I Ran (so far away)
Scary list isn't it!
