Microsoft Corp., hoping to take a bite out of Apple Computer Inc.'s highly popular online music service, is gearing up to launch its own Web site for selling songs over the Internet.

Once again Microsoft is digging its claws into a market it wouldnt have considered in the past but is only considering now because of it public appeal. I believe they will be hard pressed to compete with Apple because of the lack of a decent hardware, or even software player. I know HP is coming out with a hardware player and maybe there is some merger in the works where HP and Microsoft will try to tackle the Apple giant that iPod and iTunes have grown into. I am not an Apple fan, but I detest Microsoft even more, so I hope this falls flat on its face.
