Getting Genuine SMF Support

My biggest problem with the official SMF community was who to trust. I saw a lot of offers for help from team members, veteran members and those who just joined the site like I did. When I researched them I saw both the good, bad and ugly. It is so hard to find good help these days.

One big problem I see is people tend to equate post count with how 'good' or genuine someone is and that is just not the case. You can have 10,000 posts of nonsense or spam and be made to look like a veteran and you have no skills. In fact I've seen members there use most of their posts to ask questions about how to do something in SMF and then suddenly you see them offering support. The other thing has to do with budget... When you only want the guy that will do a job for $5 then you get what you pay for.
