
I think you are reading to much into that thrust, not the fight. The fight is significant in that it shows Seraphs true function. Being bound by the rules of the Matrix, one wonders if he can even have a simple fight, if it is not working towards the purpose in which he was created.
Seraph had keys to allot of the back doors because it was necessary to be able to move around the oracle quickly, because he was created to protect her. Perhaps that which matters most is not the oracle which leads to another board. However, it is very clear by the way the Matrix is ruled that he would not have had keys if they were not a primary function of his created role.
