Asexual?

Here is a thought... If God is thought to be male and all powerful then can he really be all powerful if he still needs female for the purpose of creation? Couldn't God just make spirits? It seems that it does not work that way, what are your thoughts on the matter?

JB, I think this topic is in close connection to what we were discussing in another thread about whether God cannot do certain things. I believe there are higher laws that do not allow him to do that hence the need for the women to do that work.

Yes, I know about that Thread, but this is a specific Topic about the word dependency. Many do not like to think that God is also bound to something, but at the same time if you can truly do anything then why would you need anyone. Is the idea of male and female really to teach us to get along or to get along with others rather than an actual need? Just something to think about.

I only consider God "all powerful" within His sphere.

We exist as eternal males and females. I think that we were male and female even when we existed only as "intelligences". I do believe that we each made a choice somewhere along the line, but I wouldn't have any idea when.

Man cannot be exalted without woman, neither can woman without man. God works within certain Eternal Laws.

So, I don't think it is a matter of dependency, but a matter of eternal necessity.

Okay, let us carry it a little further - male / female represents reproduction that is basically the beginning an end of what separates us, so with that in mind, does an intelligence have this separation or were we merely molded into capacity somehow as was previously stated by 'our choices'? This comes around to Skousen's Atonement angle, but goes even deeper and further back. It also makes you think about Go's governing Gods or in fact there is one grand collective God - okay - going too deep.

All good points.

I just think that the male/female separation is an essential part of Eternity.

Personally, I think we made a conscious choice about whether we would be male or female.

Rather off topic, but...
I can't find the information on Skousen's talk about the Atonement anymore. Do you have it? It was incredibly deep and insightful.

QUOTE (Nighthawk)
I think we made a conscious choice about whether we would be male or female.

I am sure if someone felt 'gay' they would attribute it to not being sure when it came to making that choice, and still not sure when they came to earth, but maybe it was not our choice to make - maybe we evolved that way. It is interesting to note that in Hinduism the supreme gods are asexual.

I think the separation came based on our sensitivity. Women seem inherently sensitive, but I am not quite sure if that is because of their physical makeup or their spirit within. Maybe our heavenly females / Mother has that perfect sensitivity too?

I don't think we chose to be women or men, I think it was decided by our Heavenly Parents.

Rather off topic, but...
Nighthawk, are you talking about Gospel Trilogy? There is a link on this thread: https://www.bordeglobal.com/foruminv/index.php?showtopic=8827 but is not working.
