Krusten, you don't need any feats in order to tumble out of the way in combat (although there certainly are some feats that make the "Combat tumble" even better/easier). All you need is to buy 1 rank in the Tumble Skill when you hit level 2.
OK so I have to specify the reason I'm tumbling in order for the DM to determine if it will require a feat or not? This is one of the things about Dungeons & Dragons that gets to me sometimes, so many rules and regulations that take away from role-playing but that's just me. I'm saying that because for me a fighter with high dexterity should know this as part of their background.
Without the Tumble skill you can only roll on the ground like anybody can do, but if you want to use it to roll away from an enemy in combat you need a rank in the skill. There are many moves and tactics that warriors may know as their background but they can't be trained in ALL of them. That's why you choose features and skills when you create a character.
I guess one woman can't know everything but I thought maybe at least an idea would be somewhere in the her background. How does Dungeons & Dragons work out where she learned how to tumble while going from level 1 to 2 if she's on an adventure and no one teaches her how to do it? I'm not arguing over it I just want to understand the logic of Dungeons & Dragons so I can better manage my character. Thank you for your help again.
We assume that you practiced it all the time during your way to the next level. Normally characters can't advance in the middle of an advenure, though, they have to wait to get back somewhere and spend some time to train and put the acquired experience to work.
Sorry, I stopped last post before the meeting started only to allow you guys to role-play sgtlee in the party but I forgot to add that to the description! This is what happens when my kid starts pulling the mouse and my pants while I'm posting...
Just wanted to know if you catch on to things my character does like when she says she keeps hold of the horse. Do you ignore that or keep a note of that? I want to know if Krusten still has the horse since no one came and specifically asked for it back.
