Playing dead in combat
First, "Drop to the floor" Is a free action.
This Action is considered a "Bluff" Or "Perform" Whatever the PC has that is higher.
The check rule: "A Skill check made as part of general interaction always takes at least 1 round (and is at least a full-round action), " So, regardless of when you allow the action, in a round it consume the players full action for the round.
There is a feat that allows you to perform this action in the Players Hand Book II, called Combat Panache. You may still preform this action with out the Feat but will not gain the benefits that the feat offers.
The apposed since motive or heal check (witch ever is higher) made by the apposing combatant only comes in to play if the other combatant decided to investigate the body rather then moving on to the next target on the battle field.
You are limited to using this tactic against the same people again.
This was compiled off the information on it I could find. I hope it helps.
It helps, because I didn't find anything about it and was about to consider it like Move Action + Bluff check opposed to Sense Motives. I will play it like you described it. Are you sure the guard doesn't get an attack of opportunity? It happens anytime an action forces you to lower your guard and is very unlikely that you could keep your guard up while pretending to fall down dead.
Edit: I already found the answer. No attack of opportunity.

It appears that my Character's name and character sheet appear, but only in my post. If that helps, JB.
Edit: Everyone's character names are now appearing.

Oinodaemon: dude you are the only one that still didn't made the transition from the old fields to the new ones. JB already asked me if we are ready and I'm about to ask him a two days delay to allow you to copy all the data. But, after that, I will have to give him the go. Ready or not.
After last combat, Anntreen reached 1020 Experience Points and is the first character ready to level up. Here is how it works:
-Leveling is done through this thread. You can either post the updated character sheet or just the list of improvements (result of the roll for the extra hit points, how you will allocate your skill points, new features if any and so on).
-Usually, characters will not level until the end of an adventure but our game is a setting so we will adopt different rules.
-I always put realism above all but in this case that is not possible. We will do like this: new hit points, BaB, increased skills and extra spell slots will have effect immediately. New acquired skills, new features and new spells will be only received after a full night of sleep (granted by the gods? Can be an explanation if we really need one). That's because it would bore me to death forcing a character to a month retirement for training for the new level (and I guess it would bore you guys even more than myself).
So: Congratulations, Kit! As soon as you find the time to calculate the adjustments, your character will be level 2.
Carmana, the problem now is that the healer is temporary missing (maybe busy). You are still unconscious but that doesn't prevent you from posting and participate: also the others are not doing much right now. You can suggest actions or asking descriptions and so on. What I mean is: you are not forbidden from posting only because your character is still unconscious. I hope Kit will heal you and Ja'laron soon so we can move on.
