Ja'laron can't help but notice the peculiar accent of the strangers, an accent that he remembers very well from the time he was running errands in the Imperial capital city. Is the typical inflection of the eastern slums of Sor, an area infamous for the illegal traffics and the widespread criminality. The rogue himself payed a couple of visits to that maze of small alleys when in need of reserved information or other kind of "help". The same area is also believed to be house to the leaders of the Sorian Thieves Guild.

In Character: Krusten goes up to the men and with her eyes looks into their souls trying to see if they have truth in their words.
"Wha-what? Sor?", replies the man, stricken by Ja'laron's remark. "Hey man, you got it wrong. We are not from the Cess. We come from a small village, we are farmers. I told [Yes]".
If not only for the man's sudden nervousness, the use of the word "Cess" for the capital, Sor, is for Ja'laron a clear sign that he hit the target: that "Title" for indicating the capital is seldom used outside its own walls and is typical of the lower classes living there.
Krusten tries to understand how much she can trust the stranger's words. She senses that something is out of place: they state they are coming from a small rural village yet they look so different from the farmers she is used to. Moreover, Krusten too has been raised in the countryside not so far from Sor and, even if she is not very familiar with the capital, she can tell a city dweller from somebody that works in the fields.
Jeaal leaves the others to interview the men, instead he begins searching the area thoroughly, examining the trees and the dirt and anything else that may catch his interest.

Tomas breathes heavily to catch his breath without making it look like he is. He is taken aback at Ja'laron's question. Sheltered in the church talk of guilds had been like legends. Legends like, well, magical illusions. He visibly frowns.
D20s: 4, 4
Tomas is listening to the answers and also trying to catch a lie. He also considers what to do with the men afterwards.
He mutters "The elf magic is only as good or evil as its user"
