"Well, now I'm not worried anymore," Tomas replies to Carnosus as the bridge is placed.

Tomas takes the lead in crossing and shifts his weight around to test its stability, and then nods his approval.

Tomas says simply to Berghost, "Greetings, we were told to speak with you."

Nudging Ja'laron to the front he whispers, "You're up. If you can, get us an audience with the captain."

Now unsure of her next move Mina stays quiet and keeps her ears and eyes sharp for anything. Though, she does wonder why there is only one 'military' person at the encampment.

As soon as Krusten closes her mouth, Berghost eyes become even harder, if that's ever possible. " Which kind of question is that?", he asks starting to lose his temper, "Are you trying to....". His eyes widen, like if something came to his mind. "Oh, I see... That's why Laurel is not here this time", he says talking to himself. Then he quickly adds: "That must be the badge that Laurel's friend lost during the first job, I remember him asking to the Captain about it... Well, is not my duty to give explanations. I will escort you to see Captain Tomlin in a few minutes". This said, he leaves you by the trench and heads towards the military tent, followed by the two men that brought the bridge.

You examine the small camp. The trench dug all around it is smaller than the ditch you passed to get into the grove but still you judge it required some time to be made: is approximately 10 feet wide and 7 or 8 feet deep. On the bottom, several wooden spikes promise a painful death for whoever happened to fall inside: a useful way to employ all the wood obtained by the many trees that have been cut to clear the area. The two tents are quite big and they hide from your sight what's behind them. On the left and on the right are two tall trees, spared by the man's axes. Now that you are closer, you notice wooden ladders nailed to their trunks.

Behind you, the commoners struggle to contain their curiosity and glance continuously in your direction. In the area surrounded by the defensive trench, everything seems still. Mina and Carnosus approach the bridge, ready to cross it, while the others look around trying to find answers to the many questions.

In the woods, Anntreen, Ferrin and Jeaal are hidden one next to the other. They can easily observe what's going on in the clearing and, until a few minutes ago, they were also able to hear what it was being said. Since Berghost took his leave, the commoners started talking and moving again making the task of spying from inside the vegetation more difficult.

In Character: Krusten says nothing more and follows to see this Captain that the military man has been speaking about. In her mind she wonders about the whole setup and tries to figure it out if she can through observation.

Out of Character: If Krusten can come to a conclusion about the whole encampment that is what she is trying to do.
