IN THE TENT
The thick smoke makes seeing anything impossible in the small private room that Captain Tomlin made by enclosing the northern part of the large military tent. The pungent smell of chemical agents is itchy in your nose. Alarmed by the noises she just heard, Mina tries to blindly swing her quarterstaff in the direction of the curtain, silently hoping not to hit one of her companions. She hears a loud "Thud" As the edge of her staff hits something, shortly followed by a surprised "Ouch!". Krusten is taken aback by the appearance of the smoke and adopts a defensive stance.
From the back of the room, you hear a repeated sound, like the noise produced by clothes or rags being ripped apart. Tomas tries to use it as a reference. Relying on his bare hands, the paladin prosecutes his personal duel against the Captain but he forgets about the body of Carnosus laying on the floor. Tomas trips and falls in a random direction, ending up against somebody that, without any regard, pushes him away sending him to the floor. Tomas is now prone.
Mina and Krusten feel like the heavy curtain is being moved again. A gust of fresh air comes in, bringing away some of the smoke. An unknown voice, just in front of you, declares: "Barney. Step-2A-Step. Moving Step-3F-Step". Some sort of code. Shortly after, you feel somebody moving.
The smoke slowly finds its way out of the room. The visibility starts to be a little bit better now: you can make up several human shapes in the room but is impossible to understand who is friend a and who's not.
OUTSIDE
The guard keeps running in your direction. "Bows!", he orders, and in answer to his call a volley of arrows comes from the other side of the trench. The archers give proof of their inability missing any target by yards. The only arrow that achieves some kind of result pierces one of the commoners in the leg. The man screams and sits on the ground, in pain.
Jeaal takes a step forward and hits one of the thugs on the head with the pommel of his sword: taken by surprise, the commoner goes down like a boneless doll.
Anntreen chooses to challenge the commoners: ""Take up your blade and we will meet it with Magic and death at are defense. Step aside and we will have words not blood shed", she says. For the thugs is enough. They drop their weapons and raise their hands in surrender. The soldier looks disgusted. He pushes away one of the commoners and tackles Anntreen. Ferrin approaches him, with an innocent expression. The halfling drops on the ground the basket with the crystallized snowberries (no need to tell me, I know you forgot about it (laugh)) and starts murmuring arcane formulas accompanying them with slow but calculated gestures. "Please, Sir! It is dangerous enough out there! We mean no harm to you! Please call off these men", he tweets. To which the soldier replies: "Maybe you mean no harm, little man, but I DO!". This said, he tries to hit Anntreen with his sword but the healer is not new to battle and easily deflects the blow using her quarterstaff.
A thin spire of grey smoke is now coming out from the front of the military tent. Looks like something is burning inside!
Out of Character: I didn't have any Initiative roll for Jeaal so I put his action where it was fitting better. How many times guard6 acted? Only one. But I broke his round in several parts to make the story more fluid (often I don't respect the initiative order when I describe the round of combat but I always respect it when I calculate what happens in the round).
LukeGo, Charm Person is not your lucky spell dude.
Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 A Crone, A Marquis & Missing Medallion RPG (Hover)
Anntreen rolls to her side attempting to get the upper hand and not roll free but roll on top of the guard pressing her staff down over his neck to get her point across.
Apposed grapple attempt.
"Please don't make us Kill you. We are only hear for are friends." She huffs out.

Krusten, unsure of what is going on, takes a wait and see approach to all of this, but she does use her spear to slice through the curtain and see what is going on.
Jeaal runs over to the guard grappling with Antreen and attempts to strike him a non lethal blow as well, using weapon finesse.
To Hit= 5 + 5 = 10
[Damage]= 3 + 1 = 4
Mina once again swings away at what ever is moving about after the voice gave that code.
(Out of Character: Attack 16+2=18, Damage 6+2=8, D100 roll= 11)
IN THE TENT
A thin ray of light penetrates into the room from somewhere in the back. From the left side of the room, you hear a familiar voice declaring: "Jabbari. Step-3F-Step. Barney out cold". You get over the initial surprise when you recall Ja'laron telling the party of the years he spent as a steward in The Neck: using the military code, the guard gave away unintentionally his exact position. Your suspects are confirmed by the sound of a body hitting the ground.
When the guard falls down Mina already started to swing her staff. The druid didn't even consider the chance that the one moving was a friend and not an enemy. The quarterstaff reaches Ja'laron just under the left ear sending him down without even the time to understand what is happening (8 Points of Damage, Ja'laron goes down and is dying).
Krusten tries the curtain with her spear but nothing seems to be in front of her right now.
Tomas gets on his feet and reaches the back side of the tent. He immediately realizes that the fabric has been ripped open: he sees a boot disappearing through the long cut that created an improvised door in the room. The smoke runs out through the opening and the daylight finally illuminates the tent again. You look around and you realize you are alone now...
OUTSIDE
Anntreen tries to block her opponent in a grapple. The guard shows her the difference between a street thug and a military trained soldier: he steps to one side with perfect timing and cuts through the cleric's armor with a side swing (6 Points of Damage), then counterattacks before the elf can react and hits her again on the right shoulder (3 Points of Damage).
"What are you waiting for?", he shouts to the commoners, "Bows! Come on, cowards! Kill them now or be killed by me when I finish with these freaks!".
Being unable to join in a grapple that never started, Jeaal tries to knock down the guard with the pommel of his sword but his attempt is feeble and easy to deflect.
Ferrin stares at the battlefield in astonishment.
In Character: Krusten first listens and tries to spot anything hidden. She then searches the guards for whatever might be of value including their armor.
