Tomas goes over and helps the thug as well, and asks him, "So what are the citizens around for? Logging? Hunting? Or are they just tagging along?"
He cuts off some of the excess rope from Tomlin and uses it to bind the two thugs.
He suggests to the party, "We should camp until morning then head back to Mr Goatshearer with his goods and prisoners as well as the other folk to replace the men he lost. We'll need a bit more rope if anyone has any to bind them overnight. Any other suggestions?"

"Alls of youse, sits downs by your friends," Ferrin commands to the frightened thugs. Nodding to the makeshift tent, he asks, "Whats is in there's? Any mores soldiers waitings?" He still has his hands at the ready, hoping that is enough to keep them in line.

He looks around woozily "I think I'm just going to lay down for a while. Don't leave without me." Jeaal does as he says, laying down in the grass and closing his eyes.

OUTSIDE

Tomas easily removes the arrow from the thug's leg and bandages the wound with a stripe of the man's shirt, after having washed it with some of the man's water.
The commoners do as Ferrin said then they answer in a reverent tone: "We don't know how many soldiers are here exactly, what we know is that the tent is where they use to sleep. The footmen, I mean, because the officers stay in the good tent. We were hired to help taking care of some jobs and that's what we did. We know nothing about the rest: 5 silver a day and no questions".
"Cut it off, you scum!", interrupts him Captain Tomlin, unable to hold his disgust for the men. "I'm here to face my responsibilities and you will do it as well! The orders were clear: take the goods without harming anybody. But you rats, No! You and that sick psycho that went by the name of Albert have no respect for anything: spending the day getting drunk and harassing the workers. It's because of you that the last job ended up in a slaughter and I'm sure that your hands still smell of blood".
At these words the commoner falls silent and starts looking around nervously.

Anntreen gets up, murmurs some unintelligible words and waves her handS in the air. You can see her wounds closing at an unbelievable speed and the elf looks now unscathed (Anntreen is now back to full health). She passes Jeaal, addressing him some apologetic words about her energy being not enough for everybody, and heads to the military tent.

IN THE TENT

Krusten pockets the coins and wears her new armor (AC16 now), she refills her quiver, collects the dagger and looks around for the brass brooch that was in Berghost's hands. She finds it close to one of the fallen guards (now Krusten has 2 brooches).

Mina finishes securing the unconscious soldier's wrists and ankles then looks around to see if there's anything else she could do. Anntreen enters the room and approaches Carnosus. The cleric casts a spell and the ranger can magically get up to his feet again (8hp healed, Carnosus Darnok is now at 5hp). Anntreen approaches then Ja'Laron and touches him on the back three times (Ja'laron recovers 3hp and is now at 1hp). After that, the healer sits on the ground, exhausted and completely drained).

Out of Character: Party situation: Mina has 6 hit points, Carnosus 5, Ja'laron and Jeaal only 1. All the others are at full health.

Krusten: in 3.5 a quiver only contains 20 arrows so you can only collect 3 of those that you found unless you take another quiver (adding other 3lb to your burden).

Sorry, we have to change how clothes are managed for Krusten and Tomas. When we started, I allowed you guys a "Special" Outfit weighing only 1lb but that is not fair since the others all wear regular outfits. From now, Krusten and Tomas have a Traveler's Outfit (the one of Tomas includes some clerical clothes). The outfit weighs 5lb and includes good leather boots (that don't add to the AC). Now, including changes and newly acquired items, Tomas carries 63,5lb and Krusten 52,5. Both are encumbered (Tomas not yet because he left some items at the ranch).

Carnosus got up with a groan, he rubbed his head and blinked a few times. He slowly stood up and grabbed his sword that was laying next to him, he sheathed it and looked around. "Ugh...I feel like I was just run over by a horse, make that ten. So um, what did I miss? Did we win?"

Tomas turns to Tomlin, "But by whose orders! We must know! Any minor crime cannot go unpunished, and we will follow this to the top to catch the perpetrator! This will surely also make your trial result more favourable."

After hearing the answer, Tomas gathers up his shield from behind the tent and sword from inside and suggests a plan to the uninjured party members.

To Kursten, Ferrin and Anntreen, "Good idea Ferrin. We should go now and clear the other tent, and maybe Carnosus and Mina could come as rear guard but still keep an eye ouside."

In Character: Krusten, now satisfied that her job here has been accomplished, tries out her new attire and awaits what the others think they ought to do.

Anntreen sit on the floor of the tent for a moment then stands and moves to go find Tomas. She walks up to him looking completely drained.

"So is this group the monsters we seek?" She ask Tomas.
"Can this group of lost sheep and dark shepherds really of been the killers and thieves that have torn the peace from the minds of the town and put a sunder so many life's in the name of greed?" Her questions seem to be asking for confirmation they have found the group responsible for the deaths and attacks on the caravans.

"Dose this mean we can finally return to the graving widows and children of the ranch and lay to rest the injustices of there actions?" Anntreen's eyes are glossy and sad her words are even in tone there is nothing joyful about her face, no smile or hope in it as it would normally of been.

"I am sorry." She says. "I am sorry I could not be faster or do more. I am sorry despite my best efforts we could not do this task with out needless blood shed. But most of all I am sorry we have to be here at all. Also Tomas I will not be able to do match till after the rest of a night I uses the last of what I could to heal the fallen of are group."
