Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 A Crone, A Marquis & Missing Medallion RPG - Page 182

Krusten drops her spear, takes the battleaxe and then examines the large trunk. It contains mainly clothes. On the bottom, under shirts and pants, she finds a Padded Armor and a Whetstone. Examining the armor, Krusten notices something: on its left side it bears the symbol of the Empire, a crown of laurel inside a blue and white shield. She checks the other armors and she finds the same emblem on all of them. Knowing already the answer, she finally looks at her newly acquired armor and to no surprise she discovers that the symbol of Soria is also there.

Mina searches the trunk in the third room. Is smaller than the one found in Tomlin's private quarters but contains almost the same things: clothes, a Padded Armor and a Whetstone. In a corner, under the armor, a small wooden box covers some pieces of wood.

Ja'laron sits at the table in the entrance of the military tent and starts rummaging in his backpack.

Out of Character: I brought forward those that were the obvious actions (I'm sure that Mina would have checked the trunk). Just to speed up a little. Should I take note of the items Carnosus got or the redistribution plan still stands?

Mina thinks back to her guardians teachings when she was younger about finding chests and boxes like these. He'd used to tell her, "No matter the wealth inside, if it's trapped when you open it, you're dead."

Mina looks back towards the main room knowing the other woman would not think about her actions and sighs. Mina decides to tempt fate with the trunk. First, she uses her quarterstaff to move it around to check that it wasn't rigged in its position. Satisfied, she tries to open the trunk with her staff, hoping that she'd be far enough away from any trap to spring.

She sighs relieved when nothing explodes, and looks in to find some clothes, a set of padded armor with the symbol of Soria, a Whetstone and a smaller box. She pulls out the Whetstone and the box, and places them onto the bedroll with the heavy blanket. She rolls up the bedroll and pulls down the water skin, and takes them to the main room. She looks to Krusten as she is looking over her spoils and tells her, "It's a good thing for us these men did not think to rig these things with traps."

Mina then goes out the tent to find where the others are gathering.

In Character: "I lost a spear trying to come to terms with that" Krusten mutters back.

Krusten then sharpens her battle axe while observing its workmanship.

She tries to take the emblem off the armor without destroying the armor itself and then takes a rest.

Jeaal stands up and limps over to the rest of the party.

"Hey guys, how's the search going? Anything interesting?" He asks.

Ferrin starts tying up the bandits with the piece of rope that Tomas handed over. He starts at the end opposite the captain, tying them together in a chain so that there is enough rope between them to walk them back to the farm. When he runs out of rope, he calls, "Umms...Mores ropes, please!"

Out of Character: Tying someone up is a contested roll of the escapee's Escape Artist skill versus the captor's Use Rope skill, but only comes into play if the prisoner actually tries to escape the bonds.

Ann keeps digging she digs a hole to act as a grave for each of the dead from the attack. When she is done she requests one of her party lay the men to rest and adds. "I ill be back to say some words in a moment."

Anntreen moves to put the bride back in place and cross it. She intends to retrieve her bag hidden in the brush just past the tree line. Then return to the group.

Rather off topic, but...
I am leaving to go to a "LARP" (live action roll play) game tonight. I will be back in 2 days on Sunday.

When Mina takes the small wooden box out of the trunk, she realizes that the pieces of wood on which the box was are actually two Torches: the box was hiding their tips making it difficult to see them in the twilight of the tent. Next to the torches are two smaller sticks that Mina recognizes as being Tindertwigs.
When the druid gets back to the Captain's room, Krusten is busy with the emblem on her armor. The symbol is only sewed and, even if it requires some effort, can be removed.

Outside, Tomas and Anntreen are digging a hole for burying the dead. Ferrin ties the prisoners with the help of one of the ropes that were inside the makeshift tent while Jeaal rests his wounded leg. Ja'laron is still busy with the tiny chest.

The afternoon is slowly giving space to the evening. Dark clouds are already gathering above your heads, preparing the usual nightly rain. If you want to get back to Lowmeadow, you should hurry up. If you want to spend the night in the camp, you have to think about starting a fire. You didn't see any firewood in the camp, or axes. Just a couple of handsaws but not big enough to be used to cut trees. Probably the commoners were in charge of providing the wood. The only thing that comes to your mind as a possible solution, are the long poles that hold up the makeshift tent. Wooden objects are also the bridge, the carts and the barrels.

Out of Character: Feel free to post long term actions if needed, is not necessary to stop every blink of the eye. In situations like this one, you can also plan several hours of work in a single post, example: Tomas and Anntreen dig a hole, bury the dead, gather the wood and start a fire for the night. If something happens that interrupts the chain of events, I will let you know.

In Character: Content with not being associated with any deity or having such on her armor... Krusten makes an announcement,

"Any here want this emblem or can I feel free to toss it and maybe even stamp it into the ground. I have to ask because I know some of you can be touchy feely at times."

She puts on a wicked smirk while waiting for the responses.

Out of Character: OK so where from here. Time to head back and get some rewards I think.
