Krusten not the least bit moved, "Stop preaching to me holy man, who made you the judge and jury of me or anyone?" She continues to stand there watching him to see how long he wants to keep up the charade.
"If you feel I have sentenced you for something as a judge, you are gravely mistaken. It was merely a passing comment. You have the choice to adapt into the rest of society or live alone. Seeing that you judged me as a hypocrite, maybe you should look to a mirror to see both judge and hypocrite!" Tomas smirks at his last sentence and turns to walk towards the bound workers.
The wounded worker quietly allows Anntreen to check his companion's condition. The man is in bad shape. He breaths slowly and is clearly suffering from several blows received on his head. The other one has a wounded leg and, even if with some difficulties, can walk by himself. The cleric carries the unconscious worker to where the rest of the group is and is immediately confronted by a major problem: the carts are already at full load and it will not be possible to put the two injured on them. An alternative could be using one of the two bridges as a ledger, like the thugs did before, but this way there would not be enough people for pulling all the three carts and bring along the second bridge. Help is needed.
The two bound workers willingly follow Tomas and Krusten to the main camp, slightly concerned by the tension that they can feel between the two adventurers. They volunteer to help the party, attracted by the promise of some coin. As soon as the group finishes packing everything up, the thugs renew their offer to work with the others. If they are freed and payed, of course. To gain some trust, they inform you that there's a better way to get out of the woods. A small trail has been cut through the vegetation to allow the passage of the carts that would otherwise be very hard to pull through the thick grove. For all this time, Captain Tomlin stayed in silence, busy with his own thoughts and not paying attention to what was being said or done.
Out of Character: I need to know how you will bring the wounded workers, who will pull the carts and how you plan to proceed. Apart from you guys, there are: two workers, five thugs (but one is injured also), two wounded workers, a soldier and the Captain. You have three carts, at full load, and two bridges (but you will need one for getting past the ditch).
Is not raining yet but the sky is cloudy. Dusk is quickly approaching.
Anntreen sees the full carts and looks over whats inside, hoping to see something of no use or value that can be taken off to make room for the men she found.
She ignores her party's inner conflict, but walks over to Tomas and reports. "I found to men, one can hardly walk on his own, the other needs to be in a cart, and they are all full. We need to leave now if we are going to. What of the junk in the cart can we leave here?"
As Tomas walks back, he says, "What's this I overhear? We need help with carrying? We're in luck!" And he presents the two workers whose rope he cuts dramatically.
With a hand pressed against his temple in thought, he says, "The thugs are being quite helpful too and will take the carts for a small amount of money I think it may be worth the effort of untying them since they have already been disarmed. We could unbind their hands and tie their waist to the carts instead. What do the rest of you think? Let us vote."
