"Well, it seems that they aren't even here!" Says Tomas to the empty table apart from Tomlin. "Trust that lot to go to the inn for just an hour" He says mimicking them. "Places like that make people forget their duties. Besides that, perhaps you will answer a few questions, Captain? Such as what is in your tiny chest and the small chest which we think is Berghost's, and how do we open them? I prefer not to go through private property, but in this case it's evidence."
Out of Character: Bye Antreen, you've been a great roleplayer so far. Tomas will soon be ready to take over healing duties. :)
AT THE RANCH
"No problem", answers the Captain taking a sip from his mug. "The small chest contains the payment for the workers and my company. Two thousand silver pieces. Here: this is the key". He hands a tiny iron key to Tomas. "The wooden box you are talking about must be Berghost's. You just need to slide its cover to open it: is where he was keeping his records of the payments and the inventory of our equipment. They are yours now".
He then turns to MaryJaen: "Milady, you would be safer accepting the company of these people. Is not safe to travel alone nowadays".
Anntreen leaves her bag to the new woman and takes her leave from the ranch and her traveling companions. The disturbing dream she had last night is still vivid in her mind: they need her at home, no chance of delaying or ignore the call. She turns her back to her new life and slowly walks out of Lowmeadow, a tear rolling down on her cheek.
Krusten looks around to check that nobody is spying on her movements, then she follows the butler inside the small shack. "The girl is in her room", he whispers getting right away to the point, "She came back late last night, don't know where did she run though. We have to do something before is too late. By the way, I heard that you succeeded in defeating the bandits already?".
AT THE INN
"Strange, he is", the innkeeper whispers in reply. "Spends all the time in the room and ventures outside only rarely and usually at night. He even ordered us to serve all the meals in his room. But pays well, coins are not a problem for him. Poor girl if she had to marry him: I can understand her concerns".
Krusten is somewhat surprised by the butler's abruptness since he was so 'quiet' the last time they had discussions.
"Too late for what?" She immediately replies while skipping his question about the bandits.
MariJaen looks to Tomlin and asks "Might you make introductions? Being as how Anntreen was the only person I knew and have not met the others. My prayers go out to her and her family. Who might I speak to about traveling with your company?" MariJaen looks around at Carnosus seeing their passionate kiss thinking Anntreen seemed to know that man intimately. Speculating he must be part of her companions possibly someone she can trust. Then looks back at Tomlin questioningly.
Ceza were still standing near the fireplace, He seemed interested with the conversation between the butch and the other.
Tomas, standing with Tomlin, lets out a quiet chuckle as the captain struggles for words. He interrupts, "You are mistaken, miss, for Tomlin is merely a - prisoner, I guess? I am Tomas, a warrior bound to serve Felnuus. Before I show you to the others, you mentioned Anntreen? What happened?"
Mina nods and smiles at Butch to keep up the ruse that she's flirting with him. She then whispers, "Abigail asked me to give a look over to the man. Mind if I serve him his breakfast?"
MariJaen, Looks to Tomas " Anntreen had to leave for home she said her family needed her, it seemed very urgent. She left all her belongings with me before I had a chance to meet the rest of her companions. Mr. Tomlin was kind enough to lead me to shelter from last nights rains. And had honor enough to meet you this morning when he could have escaped last night. " MariJaen gives Tomas a stern look as if to say he shouldn't be to quick to speak about Tomlin in such a way. " I'm sorry I'm MariJaen Catormany, I shouldn't be so defensive when I was told I should seek to travel with you and your companions." She gives him a softer more pleading look, not wanting to offend Tomas. " I am still shocked over Anntreen's suden departure." She nods and gives the man a soft smile.
