I found this movie to be most ridiculous. In the future, they can tell who you are by the skin flakes that naturally come off of your skin. Any hair or skin flake can give away your identity. While this sound quite outrageous, it actually pales in comparison with the rest of the movie. The most outrageous thing is that while they keep amazing track of everyone's DNA and identity, they never realize that he isn't who he says he is by having an old picture of him or someone he works with realizing that it wasn't him. On top of that, apparently, in the future they don't keep track of accidents that paralyze someone because the man Ethan Hawk borrows the identity from gets by with no one knowing either his face or the fact that he got paralyzed.
In the not-too-distant future, a less-than-perfect man wants to travel to the stars. Society has categorized Vincent Freeman as less than suitable given his genetic make-up and he has become one of the underclass of humans that are only useful for menial jobs. To move ahead, he assumes the identity of Jerome Morrow, a perfect genetic specimen who is a paraplegic as a result of a car accident. With professional advice, Vincent learns to deceive DNA and urine sample testing. Just when he is finally scheduled for a space mission, his program director is killed and the police begin an investigation, jeopardizing his secret.
