Keep 32 - Cavity Proof
If this is true then it will be a miracle but because it might put so many dentists out of work I hope there is no patent sold and then hidden away:
Wikipedia: Keep 32 is a molecule synthesized by Jose Cordova of Yale University and Erich Astudillo from the University of Chile
That is amazing if it becomes a reality but from what I read it will take probably four more years before we can see it as an option for dental care.
"Cavity proofing" teeth would not take Dentistry out fully. There will still be cases, my eldest brother for example, of people growing up with "Soft teeth". He had to get all his teeth fixed. Also all the cases of people who don't grow all their teeth, needing bridges or dentures affixed. What about accidents like I had where I got a tooth knocked out by my brother hitting me with a baseball. Dentists will still be needed for other things aside from cavity scraping and refilling.
