I really enjoyed both movies. Of course, the effects were mostly old hat by the time the second movie came around.

I saw The Mummy when it first came out. I loved it. The special effects were very cool and of course the story was very engaging. The scarabs gave me the creeps though. I am really into Egyptology, which is why I gave this movie a look. I was surprised that Brendan Fraser can actually act. Besides him the only other person I'd ever heard of was Bernard Fox, he played Dr. Bombay on the old Bewitched show. I haven't seen the second movie yet, I really haven't heard many reviews about it. I may give it a look see now.

I enjoyed 'The Mummy' and could have done without 'The Mummy Returns' like was mentioned earlier in this discussion. I felt there was enough of the story done in the first without having to do the second. Did you know that 'The Scorpion King' was a prequel to 'The Mummy'? I enjoyed that movie as well and thought it was worth mentioning here.

I thought that the very mystical aspects of The Mummy Returns were pretty good. I thought that The Scorpion King was a little more campy than the other two, so would give it about the same as The Mummy Returns.

I liked all three stories, though.
