I honestly cannot say who will be the next GOP candidate for president but one thing I do know is it won't be trump. They are just highlighting trump because of the ridiculous things he says.

I don't know. Faux News has spent the last 6 years hating on the government and building up Trump. He is a dream candidate for the white lower/lower-middle class that form the base.
He hates all the right people but isn't looking to take away the government benefits that many of them count on.
It will be interesting to see what happens once the field whittles down and policy and substance become important.

He makes me nervous. He looks like the kind of guy that will say the very wrong thing in the wrong time and since the US is a world leader and visiting nation we can't have him going around making wars.

I absolutely agree. But you are a thinking person, unlike to many of the Republican base. Things are not easy and not black and white. I haven't seen a candidate I could really support since Haussmann.
I would love to see Olympia Snow run, but while I think she would make a great President, there is no way she could ever get the Republican nomination.

Republican presidential candidates attacked front-runner Donald Trump at the first debate of the evening, which featured lower-polling candidates, foreshadowing what Trump can expect as he and 10 other leading Republican candidates face off.
The first round featured Rick Santorum, Bobby Jindal, George Pataki and Lindsey Graham.
In a heated exchange, Pataki and Santorum butted heads about a Kentucky county clerk's refusal to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, with Santorum defending Kim Davis.
Later, Graham chastised Jindal and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, saying he was "Really sick of hearing" Threats of a government shutdown. Ref. CNN
