Hello, my name is Luke. My friend introduced me to this site so that I might get back into table-top style Dungeons & Dragons games using a play-by-post medium. I've been playing role-playing games of various types since I was about 8 years old.

Hi Luke G, welcome to the community. Playing in a Play by Post environment is very different from normal Dungeons & Dragons. You will realize that is a whole new experience. One of the most important things you will learn is that is always wise to collect all your thoughts before posting: if you forget something, everybody will have to wait hours if not days for your missing roll. But it has a lot of aspects that makes it even more fun than traditional playing sessions. The emphasis on role-play, for instance: we don't know who you are so here you ARE your character. Have a look around and decide if you like what you see.

Luke, man, I would not underestimate those warnings. Rules here are not only strict but also effectively enforced. I know you was just trying to help and I thank you for that. But don't post urls or e-mail addresses, even in a disguised form, that's strictly forbidden. Same thing for providing personal data or posting in rapid succession inside the same Thread. It may look crazy but is not. Over time, you'll understand why of these rules and come to appreciate them, specially if you plan to be an active member. This is one of the few communities 100% idiot-free. You can express your opinions here without having to deal with trollers or flamers, there's no spam, commercial promotion or advertising. And most of all is completely free, but you can still donate if you want to. You will be amazed to discover how much time, and resources, the administrators and moderators employ to allow us to have fun.

Admittedly, I had only skimmed through the guidelines previously and thought I was providing the link for clarification (and only in a concealed format because my post was being auto-denied even though I thought I was referencing correctly). I have now read the guidelines more thoroughly and will hopefully be able to refrain from any further infractions.

Well yeah, that's why its auto denied because you're not supposed to be adding it in the first place. Plus nothing is concealed here dude, its all open and the mods read everything. Anyways welcome to you dude. You should be alright once you follow the rules. Its actually more relaxed than you might think right now but because you're like so used to other communities where anything goes this one might seem like its rigid but it really isn't. If you get used to things you can look us up in the other role-playing games too.
