BANDITS shot the vice-chairman of Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago (TSTT) on Monday night, after they tried unsuccessfully to carjack him in Barataria.
Police said around 11 p.m., Ravi Ratiram, 34, and his female friend were sitting in his car in front her Seventh Street, Barataria home when two bandits approached his Mazda 3 car. One of them pointed a gun at the couple and another tried to open the door.
Ratiram, who has had stints as a temporary senator, started the car and drove off. One of the bandits fired off a single round, grazing Ratiram on his stomach.
