Tarantino premiere cancelled
The premiere for Quentin Tarantino's latest film Django Unchained, a violent spaghetti Western slave revenge tale, has been cancelled in the wake of the school shooting in Connecticut last week, the film's studio said. Ref. Source 3
Set in the South two years before the Civil War, Django Unchained stars Jamie Foxx as Django, a slave whose brutal history with his former owners lands him face-to-face with German-born bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz). Schultz is on the trail of the murderous Brittle brothers, and only Django can lead him to his bounty. Honing vital hunting skills, Django remains focused on one goal: finding and rescuing Broomhilda (Kerry Washington), the wife he lost to the slave trade long ago.
Jamie Fox and Leonardo Di Caprio were excellent on the film as well as Samuel L. Jackson. Tarantino's talent at film-making is evident, having said that there are parts of the movie that did not convince me such as how "Naive" was Di Caprio's character for someone who knew all about slave-trading. Overall, I thought it was a great movie.
