WOW finally someone who gets it. No, I love the feedback it dose not mean I will change how I GM, it just means I get confirmation or not that my intended style is coming a cross correctly or well not so much as intended.
This thread was made more to attract new players, not to gain feedback from players. The character approval thread also functions as my out of game chatter thread. Much like a hub for the players to ask questions in too.
[Huh]? I am having a blast Dungeon [Mastering]! The only thing I wish was that the players where more active but that is what a forum game is like slow responses and light confusion.
I'm just happy that the highly detailed world inside my head and [unpublished], [unedited] or [unwritten] books, is getting put to use in some way other then just in my dreams.
The best part for me as a Dungeon Master is having players I can not predict!
It makes me have to react and think on my feet quickly. It also highlights the fact that people are not cookie cuter shaped, and each one will react differently, sometimes in radical ways. You know the old saying, "The joy of the unknown." That basically is how I see it, a game would be boring if I always knew what my players would do on every round.
I totally agree: a best moment for a Dungeon Master is when a player does something unpredictable. That's the challenge and that's the fun. Kit, don't worry too much about what the players think now. They don't see the full scheme: even if something had to be changed, they would not know what. Do it your way: if you change or try to meet their requests you'll not have fun and the game will get worse. Usually, if you enjoy it they'll as well because you'll be giving your best.
