Holly ponders it a moment, "Well for warriors, armor and weaponry would be great. For me, a way to stay hidden better. Maybe a way to be more fleet of foot. But I think food is also so very important. Food and rations and ways to create and make stuff to eat."
(Out of game, I know bards and clerics can create food and water and eventually feasts, but this is in game thinking)
"I guess what's important depends on who asks. I know we can't live on octopus meat alone." Holly sighs.
Yaeth ponders the question for a bit. Yaeth feels that while protection and might of arms will greatly benefit them in their quest to live through this place. On the same token have clean food and water that will sustain us in body and mind will help make sure we have the means to stay healthy and better able to survive the challenges that we may face in this test. I would think that something more towards the middle of the two options. Weapons or armor to assist us and a means to food and drink to sustain us.
Izumi responds to Zens comment of scent, "Yes, I come from a long line of men and women of the desert. Strong, honorable people who've been around since long before the great war and after. I am honored to meet you, one who I'm sure stories have been told to me and passed to my children by our elders, of your presence in that great and terrible war."
Izumi goes on about the recent changes in the city above describing the death of their King, and the rise of his son, Prince Ivan. He had set new laws and harsh punishments for laws broken, civil morale has been low as the kingdom still grieves their older beloved Kings passing a mere six months ago. The new crown prince Ivan, has had a strict law enforcement and harsher punishment creating a practically crime free city. However, the severity of these punishments have caused a lot of people to wonder about his morals. Worse yet, people are starting to go missing and rumors of distrust begin to panic the populace.
She finishes with, "Most of us have been taken from off the street, our things taken, and thrown into the kingdoms jail cells, only to find our ways down into the"Trial of the Gods" By way of a tunnel behind our cells.
As we've arrived down here each of us have received gifts from our respective Gods to help endure this "Trial". We have found other helpful things along the way." Izumi goes to her bags on the floor by the wall and retrieves the journal she wrote the warning quotes in. She hands it to Zen for his perusal. "We've also found 3 books of 12 of a mans journey down here 10 years before us. Are those the books you are keeper of, sir?"
To Zens question, Izumi answers, "We have need for both. Arms and armor will help us against the tides of enemies we will encounter. Healing items and basic needs must be met as well; food, water, things like that. We've been lucky so far, the glowing crystals, the healing water, our vermin type opponents. They make for a fine meal, and the odd makeshift items, like my bracers, but this can change at the blink of an eye.
You ask us what we need more, I implore we need all you can assist us with. Especially if we," Izumi stretches her arms out to have Zen take stock in who the Gods have chosen, "Are to wake an elder God, the one who started it all, AND beat back the Red Mist for another hundred years.
Good sir, we need whatever assistance you can give, please."
His eyes widen at the sight of Izumi's tattoo on her arm. "You!" A signal word escaping from his lips, a flavor of Shock about it. His head turns slowly looking over the group stopping and looking deeply and more attentively at each one as he goes. "You"re missing one but you have most the pieces already."
Zen shakes his head "no" and looks down a moment. "You have help that was not intended yet you are missing one, this is strange there must be unrest with in the council. It must have been called already that means something has changed, unforeseen, new, a development that is new; and, likely nothing good."
You would never of expected a hit of panic in an Old Dragons voice, but there it was if only for a moment in the last words he spoke.
He watched as the last man from the lake bed climbed on to the cliff face. And drew in a deep breath far deeper than a man his size should be able to take in.
He spoke as he spread out his hands, at took a step off the cliff face not skipping a beet in his conversation as the form of the man changed in the gliding step down from the embankment to the lake bed below. In a resounding thump the gold coin filled floor of the lake bed trimmed sending a wave of movement out word as the lake bed of coins sagged at his feet shifting in place like sand under foot.
"Oh yes I recall my visitor 10 years ago. He never saw me but I watched him for quite a while. He was the 1st truly innocent man I had seen down here and I was curious why a man of such knowledge would of attempted such a foolish and poorly timed task."
The form of silver and mass filled the space growing larger and taking shape his words linking in the air as his true form flickered in to existence.
"No woman Izumi his blue books are not one ones I keep, but I would be very interested in seeing the ones you have found so far. When he passed my way the first time they were only being written now that there pages are full of ink I must have my curiosity satisfied you do understand."
A large head towered over the cliff front looking down at the group from huge blue eyes, a main of silvery hair and skills glinted in the bright light of the room, and the Dragon stood in the pile of gold below.
"No the books I keep are the checks and balances, it is more a title then pertaining to tangible books." He said as he sat back sending a light wave of movement over the pile of coins. Lifting one of his huge claw covered hands up to scratch and stroke at his chin.
"Give me a moment to fix my bath, and find a couple of Items in this mess and then I will have a look at your blue books before I let you leave." He words thundered in the space the voice was the same but the might behind then as no longer muffled by the size of the man speaking them. Cold air filled the room and the overall look of him was awe striking.

"Hmmm... I would love to have one of your scales.. I know a few are loose, mind if I scrub you great lord?" Holly's eyes shine at the magnificence of the dragon. "To have a token of proof to show to father that I did meet a truly magnificent being would be most excellent. Just a small one? So shiny...."
"Ha." A grunted sound is made in response to the little Holly's never ending requests of fancy. The sound is unique as he digs a clawed hand full in to the lake bed pulling up a large fist of items and coins. He holds it in front of himself thumbing over it with his other hand while sitting up. Coins slowly fall out on to the lake bed along with other items as he picks some items form the clutch, he dumps what's left back in the pile taking up another handful and repeating the motion another 2 or 3 times. A large clawed fist the side of a good man and twice that of holly sets the loose handful down on the bank then returns to underfoot as his stands sifting his location and moving a claw to the rock on top the statues. He picks it up the large side of the rock resting like a orb with in his hand he lightly blows on it than gives it a kiss before he sets I back down. The statues shift and the room rumbles as the plug sinks back down in to place.
He turns toward the cliff face a toothy smile he picks the dead and butchered lump of left over Octopus up from the lake bed looks it over then throws it in his mouth, it takes only a couple jawing sounds as he chews before he swallows what was left of the thing in one large and oversized bite.
"I"ll get a new one conjured to this plane soon enough." He mumbles then setting one claw down on the blank he opens his wings a large and lingering stretch, then pulls at the bank and shifting in form back. The old man is bent over robes on at the edges of the bank where his large clawed hand had just been. He stands and gives another stretch this time with his old arms, as he rolls his neck cracking it with the stiffness this lesser form offers.
He is standing over a rolled up rug not a large one but one the size of a bedroll. The pile of items he had gathered lay a foot or 2 a way on the frosted over clay bank.

Holly grins, "See guys, I told you I wasn't lying. I really did see a dragon print back there." She finds the gold hidden in one of her pockets and pulls it out while running over to the old man. "Here great lord. I found this gold. I don't need it." She proceeds to massage the old man's neck and smiles to herself and speaks in a whisper of draconic, "If I knew I'd get to meet a dragon every time I stole something I'd be doing it all the time. But I think I'll go on ahead and swear by solemn vow I will never take anything for just personal gains. Well maybe only if I really need it. But would it be a personal gain if I took what was not mine and it was to benefit everyone else too?" She looks down at the ring, "I don't even know where this came from, but it did glint... I'm all for an adventure." Should she ask? Aw heck with it, "I'm going to need a blank scroll book, I intend to learn magic one of these days."
Zen shoots Holly a sour face of disgruntled disapproval as she speaks of stealing as if it was a good thing to do.
When she tries to cling onto him, he simply picks her up by the fabric on the back of her clothing. The little girls feet hang in the air over the ground and the old man speaks, "Little Holly, if I were you, I would learn the difference between doing something good and doing something in the name of good. It can be a vastly important thing to also take in to account who you are speaking to and about what."
He walks towards the group holding Holly up by the hood. Her weight seemingly unnoticed by him, like he was carrying a roll of parchment.
She hangs from his grasp like a sad kitten carried home by a mother at the scruff of the neck. Zen softly sets the girl down near Izumi. "Woman Izumi, you did such a good job rearing your boy. Perhaps you can also teach this one a lessen or two."
As he walks back to the Rune he left on the floor, along with the handful of items, he adds a comment of, "That ring on your hand, child, is a gift from your God. Do not lose it, do not trade it, and do not rely on it either."
He moves back to the rug, picking it up still rolled and bound. "You boy, behind your kin of blood, take this and gather your bag of meat."
He picks up the remaining items off the ground after handing the Rug over to Haru.
"It's lighter than it looks" Haru says, thanking the man.
"It was made by the same man as that box you carry." Zen replies as he moves towards the cave passage.
"Follow me." He says to the group as he steps in to the dark passage he snaps two fingers from his hand and a glowing floating torch of light appears.
He leads the group into the passageway.
Praos quickly gathers up the magic rope as well as Felipe's rope and hands his rope off to him as Praos falls in with the rest of the group as they head into the passageway now lit by a magical light.
The passageway is twenty feet wide and twenty feet tall. It is nearly round with a mostly flat path for a floor. The scrapes and marks of the walls and floor suggest it had been carved by claw from solid earth.
Zen leads the group about 10 mins in a walk. The group passes a halfling corpes on the side of the tunnel, it must be the one Holly looted earlier and told the group about. Zen stops in front of an ordinary looking area of wall, then waves a hand. The illusion of the wall fades away and a split off of the tunnel appears before the group. He then proceeds down the new passage with only, "Come along" Added as he moves.
