Yaeth watches and listens but since he is still new to the group himself he is not sure how to react. He has seen people come and go all his life many without saying good-bye. HE will just chalk it up to human nature.

After Zens announcement of Elriks decision to stay behind, she ponders the impact on the rest of the party on losing their only cleric and main healer. She looks to Zen and questions him, "Since Elrik will be staying behind with you, would there be anything you could supply us with to compensate for the loss of our main source of healing?"

After Holly asks to be in the forefront of the party line, Izumi agrees but tells her, "You can surely be part of the front, but I suggest you not be the very first. That should be for a torch bearer, or for me when I'm up front. I do not require light to see in the dark."

"If you are ready I shall take you to the entrance to the grove. From there, you will be back on your own." Zen remarked while beginning to walk down the hall expecting the group to follow.

The walk is little less then an hour. As the group moves forward, Zen remains mostly in silence. Of the couple of comments he makes, he informs the group, "I have woken you before sunrise, this is an important fact. When you get to the grove it will still be dark, the light of that room reflects the movement of the sun many miles over head past countless stone. Do not be fooled by its light. You can use the light of the grove to know the hours of the day, but you must pass the grove before 48 hours have passed. This leaves you little time to rest but the task is achievable as long as you stay on course."

Before leaving

Izumi nods to the men wanting to be up front, then says, "We should have some of our martial fighters to cover our backs, too. Praos and Felipe, do you two mind covering that position? If not, I think we can go in party line of Alexander, Yaeth, Holly, myself, Matthias, Haru, Praos, and Felipe."

On the trail

Izumi asks Zen, "What is our course? Is there a straight path, or are we to discern the way while inside?"
