Out of game
Sorry did not see the rolls and fact you said you would be reading aloud in your last post.
I will have the outcome of your rolls posted for you soon.
In game:
As he reads allows the information becomes known to all people with int he room.
Your quick search around the room, leads you to find a half peace of chock, a small scrap of leather string, about a foot long, and a couple of coins in the ruble. (2 silver)
As you go your keen eye looks around the room you spot a holy symbol on each person. You also notice something, a glint from the corner of the room by where the hall way opens into the room. When you go to see what the glint is, you find a small peace of broken mirrored glass.
Izumi listens intently to Elrik until he finishes. "That....is a lot of information. Do you know how many languages this is in and what they are, sir?" She then asks, "Is there anyway we can write this all down for our road ahead? Matthias, that book you brought out of the last room. Do we have ink and quill? Anyone?"
Izumi sighs to herself. "I think it important enough to do something as that. I've gathered a few rags we can use as a sort of bandage after the deed. Someone wrote all this, and if my guessing be right, it was meant for us as assistance. It would be unwise not to transcribe it to something we can take along and read as we travel along. Matthias, may we use that book you found, or are there pages we may use?"
Izumi pulls out her sword and one of the wooden bowls she kept. She lays the bowl down by the fountain, and kneels before it. "How much shall we need? Can it be a little from one or will we need more of us to give?"
You dip the wooden bowl into the water drawing some out, then set it on the stone. You take another wooden bowl from your bag and the blade to your arm. In the second bowl you have but a little water for the blood to mix with and make a red like ink that will dry brown on the pages. You have the first bowl set to the side to wash the rags and your soon to be made wound with.
You know that pain is easier to bare in a quick slice then a slow one, so you clinch your hand around the blade over the second bowl, and quickly pull the blade down your arm.
You bite your lip with the pain, as red crimson drips from your arm, down your hand and into the dish, mixing with the water. Having already gotten through the worst of it, you clinch your fist tight forcing more blood to drip down into the soon to be used as ink mixture.
When you're done, you are breathing a bit faster as the pain has gotten your adrenaline going.
With your other hand you take up the rags as you sit alongside the well. You dip them in the dish of clean water and wring them out over the floor.
The rags look very clean now, but the water in the dish is quite dirty now.
You dip the clean rags in the well to get them resaturated and hold the bloody arm out. As you unclench the fist to relieve the cut, your hand shakes a bit with the pain.
You squeeze some of the clean water from the rags over the arm, setting the rags on your lap to draw one at a time to bandage yourself. As you use the first rag to wipe the blood away, planing to use the second to tie the wound up tight. A look of disbelief falls over your face as the pain in your arm quickly fades.
The water from the well, when pored over the wound, has healed you. As you wipe away the blood, your arm appears uncut. The pain is now gone and you feel well. (The well has healing properties like that of the fountain in town far above the ground, it had no affect on any of you until now because you were all at full health.)
Izumi's first words after the sudden healing of her arm are, "Another Fountain? I wonder if they are connected somehow." She tries to contain her elation a little for thought of the writing that needs to be done. "Matthias may I have that quill. Anyone, some paper, or parchment we may scribe on?"
