Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 RPG Main Game - Page 25

Felipe decides to replace the dirty water with the fountain's water, he also puts all the stuff he found to his sack. After that he checks one more time to see if he sees anything special.

Out of game: Do I need to roll every time I make these types of actions?

Out of game:
Yes and no. When you want to take an action such as to look a round you can declare, I look a round, if there is something blatantly visible I won't make you roll. (This tends to be information I'll freely post.)
If you are in a space such as you are now where there are many people whom have already looked around, and you feel like something was missed, looking around more intensely likely means if there is anything still there to find it is hidden with a much higher difficulty rate.
So you would need to take 20 or keep rolling to hope to find it. But, some times the hidden thing will just be outside the possibility of being found with out a "Key action" being taken 1st that allowing for its discovery.(hint)

You are always more then welcome to roll for search or spot randomly in game. You will just not always gain anything from it.

In game:
This rooms been heavily searched there is nothing you can find.

Izumi takes the quill and book, and jots down everything Elrik reads off the walls. When she is done she washes the bowl out and wipes the quill clean from the water in her water skin. After that, she takes a small sip of the water and refills the skin from the well. She stands back up and makes a second, more careful, walk around the room to see if anything else was missed.

(Out Of Character: Listen check: 15+3=18, Spot check: 18+3=21, Search:17+2=19)

You hear nothing.
You see the same witting on the walls the others are looking at, "Not this one." But, when you read it You recognize it at once to be the handwriting of your son.
And, your search finds nothing new.

Yes they have images on them, the image is worked in to the mettle of there form. Its not exactly a "Carvings" but you could call it one.

When Izumi gets close enough to the first door to read the chalk writing of "Not this one", she notices the way it is written. The very same strokes her son, a left-hander, would make! She rushes to the next door to see the same style writing, then then next door the same. Her thoughts are immediately of him as she says his name, "Haru". Izumi declares to the group, "My child is down here. This is his writing on the doors. I do not understand what he means by this, but these are the only doors
We've seen. What ever we're doing, let's do it now!"

With that, Izumi goes to the Dragon door and splashes water on it, then does the same to the Tree Door, and finally the Thorn-covered Key door.
