In Character: Krusten is excited about picking the door open, hopefully it can be welcome relief to understanding more about her purpose here or an exit, but she is probably being too hopeful. She takes out her trusted tools and begins her work:

When Felipe realizes that Krusten was not around, he says to the group, "Where is Krusten?" She can't be wondering by herself, she might expose herself to a trap" Felipe goes now and searches for Krusten before going back to searching for traps in the other rooms and corridors.

Izumi leaves the two extra spears near Rudigar's body, and moves on into the the large room she was about to enter when they had heard the dead mans last yell. As she goes she explains to Felipe, "I'm sure she's just a head of us here, no need to worry yerself about her."
As Krusten starts to pick the locks she hears the sound of gears over head the room seems to vibrate a bit and the sound of screeching metal grows louder, but nothing seems to happen.
She failed to successfully pick the 1st and 3ed locks, but gets the 2ed ones undone. Some light dust filters down from the seams around the ceiling but the many support pillars of the room keep supporting the roof over her head as she works. She will have to keep trying to get the other two locks undone. The screeching sound of gears over head is uneasy feeling and moreover is distracting and a bit worrisome.
While she might be excited about picking the door open, she will have to try again. (2 rolls this time)
As the others are walking down and arriving in the next room Matt grabs the last 2 spears and follows saying a prayer to Er-u Tan as he walks. Then stopping suddenly and holding his shoulder as if in pain, he sways leaning so far over is a momentary lack of strength that he becomes propped against the wall before he can regain his balance.
"Dam you." He mumbles under his breath as he recovers and keeps walking. If any one looks at him or voices a show of concern he ignores them but replies with "It's nothing." he continues walking to join the others in the next room entering without paying any attention to the sound of screeching gears overhead.
When Matt sees the new woman Krusten with lock picking tools trying to pick the doors 3 key holes he stops and waits watching her but not disturbing her in her actions.

As Izumi enters the new room she takes a few moments as Krusten is working at a wall to look around.
(Out of Character: Listen 18+3=21, Spot 16+3=19, Search 15+2=17)
As you listen carefully you can tell that sounds are coming from above the stone ceiling. The sound of gears screeching and grinding metal on metal is grating on the ear.
As you look around, you spot that near the door way into the room there's a small slit along the ceiling line and small evenly spaced holes along the entrance point of the room floor. As small puffs of dust filter down near the walls you notice that there's an even seam around the walls of the room, you would expect to see that kind of seam in a room which has a moving ceiling. However, the many support pillars appear to have neutralized this rooms trap.
As you examine the pillars, you realize they are made from a completely different type of stone then any of the walls, floor, or ceiling. They also appear to be hand carved, less ornamental then functional. It seems unpractical but you get the idea they were created down here likely by others that have come before you.
As you search the room you don't find much. What you do find you can't reach easily. In one of the cracks in the walls between two bricks where some of the mortar has been worn away, you see a small piece of twine hanging down connected to something wedged in to the crevasse in the wall.
You might be able to grab the end of the string if you jump, climb, or get a boost from some one, but the string is just outside the reach of your hand, but only by about a foot.
Krusten is not phased by her failing the first time around, she tries harder this time to open the two locks, but before she does she looks back at those now entering the room,
"Get ready, I'm going to open this."
