Tragedy From Drinking And Driving
When I read stories like this, it really breaks my heart. A normal family is walking down towards Mc Donalds when a drunk driver makes their life their worst nightmare.

Painful odyssey: Family still struggles 28 months after Magna tragedy It has been two years and four months since a drunken Tory Lee Jacques blew through a stop sign in a quiet Magna neighborhood and struck four members of the Smith family walking toward McDonald's one Saturday night. Six-year-old Darius Joseph Smith was killed instantly. The impact of the crash knocked out his big brother, Desmond. His teeth were broken. Doctors found a fractured leg, damaged knee and a concussion when the 11-year-old boy they call "Desi" arrived at the hospital. The boy's ear was nearly torn from his head. Buddha's dad, Earl Smith, was knocked unconscious, too. He awoke to see a little body under a sheet. No one saw Buddha's sister, Autumn, at the accident scene that night until they heard her crying out softly for her teddy bear. The 9-year-old was wedged between the car's front tire and a chain-link fence, her face down in the dirt and her legs twisted horribly right-side up. She had a broken right femur and a double compound fracture of the left femur. One bone in her lower leg was broken, too, and road rash covered her body. Her spine was injured, and she had swelling and fluid on the brain. She had a concussion, and her front teeth were knocked through her lip... Ful Story |
I cannot even imagine the agony of this poor family! What I don't understand is the headline "family still struggles after 28 months." Well, duh. Do they think people get over something like this in a month or two? This will affect the rest of their lives. We can't count the months until the grieving is over, because it never stops. The pain might lessen, but we never "get over" the death of a beloved family member, nor the tearing apart of a family in this way.
In my opinion, of course.

That was very painful to read. I kept imagining it was my family and my chest started tightening up. I could not imagine having to go through something like that. I hope that young man realizes how he has affected this family based on his poor decisions.
FOUR DIED AND DRUNK DRIVER CAN'T REMEMBER
Speeding on a motorway at an estimated 125kmh, Charles Goodson was so drunk he did not even realise he had hit another vehicle in a collision that killed four people.

Its not really good when you kill people over a drink and can't even remember doing it. For me drinking and driving makes you a murderer because you know the risks involve before drinking but you do it anyway. Its like premeditated murder.
