MECHANICAL FAILURE CAUSED B.C. FERRY CRASH
Mechanical failure caused an accident on Thursday in which a 7,000-tonne ferry missed the dock in Horseshoe Bay, B.C., and smashed through small boats moored at a marina, investigators said Friday.

This boat crashed while unmanned. They found the driver in the water but didn't tell us why he went over board. Someone actually filmed this crash according to the article.
Well, the follow-up in this case... the men get more than a year. Maybe it is not much for those that lost loved ones, but at least they did not get off free. There will probably be lawsuits following this.

CROWD TRASHES EGYPT FERRY OFFICE
Hundreds of relatives of passengers drowned on a Red Sea ferry attacked the offices of the owners Monday, throwing its furniture into the street and burning the company's signboard.

The presidential spokesman said Tuesday that the owners of the Red Sea ferry that sank, drowning about 1,000 people, did not inform the government that the ship had sunk for nearly six hours after it went down.

The New York Fire Department says 10 to 15 people are being evaluated for possible injuries after a ferry struck a dock during rush hour in lower Manhattan. News reports say the Seastreak ferry from Atlantic Highlands, N.J., banged into the mooring as it arrived in Manhattan. Some patients were carried away on gurneys to waiting ambulances. It occurred around 8:45 a.m. Wednesday at South Street. Ref. USAToday
