What Is Wrong With... - Page 2

Basically, I agree that it comes down to the fact that the only reason there is a controversy is that so many people are "humor challenged".

Do you find them funny? Not to turn this into a debate or anything, but they didn't make me laugh. Of course, they didn't send me into fits of rage either, so I've stayed relatively neutral on this.
Offtopic but,
For some reason, I find the phrase "I eat glue" on a shirt to be absolutely hilarious, so I'm not entirely against "stupid humor" either. smile.gif

None of the slogans made me laugh out loud, but I could definitely see the humour in them, as well as the basic message.

The problem is that so many people are concerned more about what other people do, rather than what is going on in their own lives. If someone wants to proclaim that "I can't, I'm Mormon", what difference does that make? It's like making a fuss because someone likes rum flavoured ice cream. If you (or I) don't like it, or don't think it is appropriate, then we should stay away from it. We shouldn't be boycotting the company that makes it, or trying to hurt them (which demanding that the ads be removed is - a boycott). Of course, by demanding that the ads be removed, they have provided lots of free advertising.

Because you have morals, values and principles regards of your religion.

Well, in today's society, if not for religion there really is not a strong reason not to drink alcohol in moderation. In fact, much research indicates a glass of wine each day is good for your heart. I am not saying I accept this as fact, but just trying to say that if not for religion, I would drink alcohol and coffee without a doubt. So, although it is a choice, it really still is that I can't because of my religion, because otherwise, I would and would want to.

Anyway, it really is just a matter of symantecs. You say won't I say can't. I still thought the shirts were funny and I laughed out loud...So now you know the truth about me...I am a bit weird...are you shocked! biggrin.gif shocked.gif' /><!--endemo--> </p><div> </div> </div>

I agree 100% with you. They made such a big deal about it, even though I think the shirt itself is stupid, I will mind my own business but some members just do not get it, they think that because they believe it to be 'offensive' must be offensive for everybody else. Like my deceased uncle would say 'They want to be more Mormon than Joseph Smith'. rolleyes.gif

I cant because I'm mormon sounds ok to me. I cant because my beliefs wont let me might be more accurate, temptation was designed to be nice or enticing,so our beliefs are meant to protect us, good and evil are meant to have equal weight. the blessings or cursings from the lord are equal and opposite too.
