Doner Case Makes Millionaires Of A Couple Of Women
The city of Los Angeles has reached a $4.2 million settlement on injury claims by two women who were injured when police mistakenly opened fire on them during the manhunt for disgruntled ex-cop Christopher Dorner. Margie Carranza and her 71-year-old mother, Emma Hernandez, were delivering papers around 5 a.m. Feb. 7 when LAPD officers blasted at least 100 rounds at their pickup. Hernandez was shot in the back and Carranza had minor injuries. Ref. USAToday
The police were scarred out of their minds about the police Doner killed earlier to this inncident so they were on edge and jumpy. Of course that doesn't excuse what they did I just understand why they may have acted that way.

I agree with FairMaiden. Doesn't matter how trained or prepared you are, things can slip out of hand when the situation is tense. Is not an excuse, of course. The whole operation is going to be very costly for the local Administration.
