General Conference

As usual I always ask these questions before any General Conference:

1. What do you hope to hear?
2. What did you get the most out of it.

Since Conference has not started yet I would be interested in hearing more about the signs of Christ's coming. It is a topic I find the CHurch speaks little about except for in scheduled Sunday School or Institute lesons.

I agree with you. There is very little discussion about the signs of His return.

I don't know that there is anything in particular that I WANT to hear. I listen to see if any of the "signs" I am expecting show up in Conference.

I would like to hear something more about the times we are living, also about the role as Latter-Day Saints and our conection with serving our countries in times of war, I noticed President Hincklet stopped talking about it when the whole thing in Iraq messed up. I would like to hear more about preparations for the Second Coming of the Lord and of course, see if there is any new revelations.

Would you mind to share some of those signs you are expecting?.

Conference General

The key thing that should happen this conference should be the calling of new apostles due to the loss of Elder Haight and Elder Maxwell. I am personally very interesting in who gets called and where they are from. Also, it would be very interesting if more Apostles are assigned to administer in specific geographic regions.

Also, with all of the emphasis on building lately, I am curious if there is going to be any retrenchment, especially in regards to personal worthiness. Maybe it is just me, but there does appear to be an increase in pride and materialism among the members of the Church. I am not exactly expecting a 1856-57 style reformation, but a greater call to act and to be saints.

You know I had forgotten all about that, I am also looking forward to this and it makes me more anxious to see the Sunday morning session.

I totally forgot about the Apostles too!!! and yes I agree with rbogart about the increasing of pride and materialism in the Church nowdays, I would like to hear more about this too and also about succesful leadership and immodesty in adults members of the Church.

One of the signs happened today - the eruption of Mt. St. Helens. I expect to see a major event, bigger than the 1980 event, that will set off Mt. Rainier, right around October Conference.

The calling of new Apostles could be one of the signs, although when it gets REALLY interesting will be when 3 General Authorities die in close proximity, near October Conference.

I have reason to believe that the great setting in order of the House of God will occur around October Conference.

The calling back of all the missionaries.

I would like to know more about these things. Would you mind to share where can I find information available? You seem to be sure is around October General Conference, why October particularly?.
