Which kind of benefit could bring such an action to this man? The article says he is a member of some survivalist movement against the Government, whatever that is. But I don't think this information establishes any connection between the kill, with subsequent kidnapping, and the man's affiliation. Sounds more like this guy lost his mind for some reason.

From the reports of his neighbors, this man could be capable of anything. Let's hope he doesn't decide to turn his frustration on the young hostage. By the way, is it normal to have an underground bunker in the front yard in those regions?

Good news, I'm glad to know that the kid is safe. Situations like this one can end up in any unpredictable way. Already two men lost their lives and it would be a tragedy if a child would become a victim of this guy's madness also.

He is already a victim. Some of the children who were not kidnapped probably have nightmares about school buses. The child that was kidnapped will have lifetime nightmares about actually being held hostage. We don't know what the child went through but things that you experience as a child stay with you forever.
