I can agree with this if a young child is lifting or carrying a heavy back pack to and from school daily. I how ever tend to disagree with the findings for adults. I lifted a lot of heavy weight while in the military. I also worked out to develop some nice muscles in my teen and early 20s to where the heavy weight has not bothered me at all.
As adults if we train our body both physically and mentally I do not think that lifting weights during a work is going to cause any issues. IF one does not train their body then they will be risking injury to include what this study has said.
