"Into The Darkness" RPG: Character Approval / Q&A - Page 2

Your attributes are a little on the low side for my game, but it shouldn't be an issue.

Your character will be plain Magic User, rather than a Conjurer. I have no specialist classes like that, rather, you would want to take Magic Specialty-Conjuration as a 1st level feat. Magic Specialty choices are; Universal, Conjuration, Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Light, Dark, Holy and Unholy (I forgot my Unholy spells on my updated spell list, I'll post it in the complete version) Note that some spells could apply to more than one category (such as Create Water). In such a circumstance, I put the spell in whichever spell category I feel it fits best in (Create Water is in Conjuration rather than Water). In the case of Conjuration, Magic Specialty will increase Summoned Monster's HD by 1, produce larger amounts of summoned food/water, etc.

No, I have no 0 level spells.

Spell casting is based entirely on Intelligence. I would require any Magic User in my party to have a minimum of 16 Int. Intelligence Modifier directly influences # of spells per day and # of spells per level. With 18 Intelligence, you will be able to choose 4 spells per level, and cast 4 spells of each level per day. So at 2nd level you will have 8 spells, and be able to cast 4 1st level and 4 2nd level per day.

A 2nd level Magic User with 16 Int would have a total of 6 spells and be able to cast 3 1st level and 3 2nd level per day.

So, actually spell level will scale at the same rate as player level, not every two levels as for the rules? Will leveling follow the traditional table (2nd level at 1000xp, 3rd at 3000xp and so on)?

Yes, spell level increases per player level, and yes, leveling follows the traditional progression.

Some questions: Do wizards keep the Scribe Scrolls bonus feature? Are you sure, only 4 spells known? This would unbalance the Wizard greatly, everybody will only want to play Sorcerers.

Speedy Memorization gives you one extra spell per level, so pick one more spell. Yes, you can scribe any spell you know to a scroll. I am not using the Sorceror class, only Magic-User, Druid, and Cleric for Magic based classes.

I will choose Flame Arrow. I still have some doubts but I think that everything will become more clear during the game

"Into Darkness" RPG Character Approval / Q&A - Page 2

Alright, Quasar is approved and ready to join. I'll have your intro done today and have you in game this evening.

What's Quasar's alignment?

Also, I only use Gold as currency, for simplicity's sake. No copper or silver. (If your character found a pile of silver coins he could sell them for gold) My in game reason for this is that gold is very plentiful in this time period.

Your character begins with 5 Gold.
